Shock Chlorine

Shock Chlorine refers to dosing the pool with high amounts of sodium hypochlorite or calcium hypochlorite without increasing levels of Cyanuric Acid or another stabilizer. The treatment is intended to deal with problems like algae growth or an unpleasant chlorine smell. It satisfies the demand for chlorine by killing bacteria, algae, and other microorganisms, plus it breaks down the accumulated organic impurities to leave a chlorine residual.
